Derbyshire and Derby City DelegationVisited Anhui Xinhua Distribution Group
On April 27, Tony King, cabinet minister of Derbyshire, Christopher Poulter, speaker of Derby City, and Daniel Carvalho, director of Anhui Regional Affairs of British Consulate-General in Shanghai, visited the group headquarters and discussed the future exchanges and cooperation in culture and education.
Cao Jie, secretary of Party Committee and chairman, Guo Hongbin, member of the Party Committee and vice general manager, Li Yan ,general manager of the investment and management center, Qi Feng, head of the Anhui and Derbyshire Sino-British Cultural Exchange Office, and Chen Ying, chief director of Wanxin Study Tour Center, participated in the exchange activity.
On behalf of the Group, Cao Jie expressed warm welcome to Tony King and his delegation. Cao said,Anhui Province and Derbyshire are on friendly terms with each other. Culture and education are two important areas of cooperation. Both sides have carried out extensive and meaningful cooperation ever since the signing of the cooperative agreement. He hoped that the two sides would strengthen exchanges and visits between the youth and sow the seeds of friendship and hope.
Speaking at the meeting, Tony King expressed his confidence in the group’s future cooperation with Derbyshire and Derby City. He expounded the possibility of cooperation in cultural and educational projects between both parties, including youth study tour and co-construction of community libraries and expressed that the Derbyshire government would give full support to promoting the cooperation between the two sides.
Christopher Poulter said Derby City and Hefei City have much in common, including a favorable geographical location, educational resources, and demographic advantages. Derby City sincerely welcomes Anhui Province to open up the market in Derby, and will give strong support accordingly.
During their visit, Tony King and his delegation also visited Anhui Book Museum at the headquarters.
